Kids Center

Visiting the mountain with little ones in tow? Don't sweat it! Conveniently located on the second floor of the Base Lodge, our Kids Center provides lessons and day care services for infants and young children!

The Kids Center offers two programs: day care for ages 6 months to 6 years, and our Ski/Ride & Play lessons for kids ages 3-6. Enjoy peace of mind while you hit the slopes for half- or full-day sessions, knowing your kids are safe and entertained right here on the mountain.

Day Care (ages 6 months-6 years)

The Kids Center is a space for our youngest guests to play and rest while their families enjoy the slopes. With low child-to-staff ratios, two napping rooms and snacks included for every child, it's a safe and comfortable space where children can take part in storytelling, art projects, singing and music, puzzles, games and, when the weather permits, outside playtime. Full-day sessions also include lunch. Day care services do not include skiing or snowboarding instruction.

Day care space is limited and advance reservations must be made online! We do not have a waitlist; our online store will show our most up-to-date availability. Please fill out or download the registration form below, then hit the Book Now button to make your reservation.

    Please review the following policies, then sign at the bottom.

    Sick Child Policy: Whitefish Mountain Kids Center will not accept into our care any child displaying symptoms of illness or who might be contagious. If your child begins to feel unwell while at daycare, we will notify you to pick up your child.

    The following are guidelines of symptoms of children considered ill:

    • A temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher
    • Red, watery eyes (pink eye)
    • Undiagnosed rash
    • Excessive runny nose/ sneezing
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Vomiting within the past 24 hours
    • Diarrhea

    Sad Child Policy: We will do our best to assimilate a child experiencing separation anxiety. If we are not able to soothe your child, we will contact you to come and pick up your child. We are always willing to try again another day.

    Medication Administration Policy: We do not administer any medications. The only exception is administration of an EpiPen in a life-threatening situation. If your child is prescribed an EpiPen and you plan to have it at daycare, please include that information on the Registration form, inform staff upon arrival, and complete the Authorization Agreement. If your child is required to take a prescription (non life threatening) or over-the-counter medication, we require you to visit the facility during the day to administer the medication.

    Behavior Policy: We only use positive methods of discipline and guidance that encourages self-esteem which includes praise of good behavior, reminding children of behavior expectations, redirections and brief supervised separation or time-out from the group, when appropriate for the child's age and development which is limited to no more than one minute per year of the child's age. For the safety of all, children that show repeated misbehavior or biting will need to be picked up and Daycare Management consulted.

    Drop-off: Drop-off time for Morning Half Day and Full Day programs is at or after 9 am. Drop-off time for Afternoon Half Day programs is 1 pm. Parents are welcome to drop children off anytime after the drop-off time, however the pick-up time will remain the same no matter the child's arrival time.

    Pick-up: Children will only be released to parents and other people listed on the registration form. Photo identification will be checked for anyone picking up a child. Pick-up time for Morning Half-Day programs is no later than 12 pm. Pick-up time for Full Day and Afternoon Half Day programs is no later than 4 pm. Parents who fail to pick up their child by the designated pick-up time will be charged a late fee of $10 for every 15 minutes.

    Cancellations: We ask that you cancel by phone or in-person no later than 2 pm the day prior to your reservation. Cancellations made later than 2 pm the day prior will result in a $25 cancellation fee. Guests who no-show for a reservation will be charged the full cost of the program, and any future reservations will be cancelled.

    Meals and Snacks: A variety of snacks will be offered throughout the day for all children. Lunch will be served between 12 pm and 1 pm for children enrolled in Full Day programs. Children are welcome to bring their own snacks and meal. We cannot guarantee a completely “nut-free” environment, but we recommend that all outside snacks not contain nuts.

    Packing Checklist:

    • Pre-mixed bottles (if needed)
    • Pacifier/ lovey/ comfort item (if needed for napping children)
    • Sleep sack (if napping)
    • Diapers
    • Specific creams, ointments, wipes needed for diapering
    • Optional: snacks, meals

    Please check your child's bag, pockets, etc to make sure the following are not brought into the facility: medications; small objects; toys/electronics; pocket knives; bear spray; or any chemicals.

Ski/Ride & Play (ages 3-6)

Children are placed into small groups based on their ability and goals. Ski/Ride & Play lessons include supervised break time as needed, plus gear storage and a lift ticket for the day. Check in at the Kids Center on the second floor of the Base Lodge. Full-day lessons also include lunch. Availability is limited and advance reservations must be made online! Details

Storage: Please be aware the storage room is not secured. Skis and equipment may be moved by other guests who use it. We are not liable for missing, stolen or damaged gear.

Rentals: Equipment rentals are not included with Ski/Ride & Play lessons, but a 25% discount for participants is available at the rental shop.

Check-in: Equipment rentals, lift tickets pickups and lesson starts all happen at the Base Lodge.
