NYE Torchlight Parade & Fireworks

Torchlight parade begins at 6pm.

Help us say goodbye to 2020 with a fiery Torchlight Parade and Firework Show to bring in the new year. The Torchlight Parade and Fireworks will begin at 6pm, just outside of Ed and Mully’s in the Upper Village. Night Skiing on Chair 2 will close from 5:30-6:45pm. Chairs 3 and 6 will remain open.

If you would like to participate in the Torchlight Parade:
You must register online by 5pm NYE, be an intermediate or expert skier or snowboarder, and low-visibility goggles are highly recommended. Arrive at the bottom of Chair 2 no later than 5:15pm.

What about COVID?
We are dedicated to providing safe recreation opportunities for our guests. We are taking steps to create fun and safe events.
• Online Pre-registration on this site is mandatory to participate in the torchlight. Day-of Registration ends at 5pm.
• All competitors must wear a mask at Check-in and when social distancing is not possible.
• There is no New Year’s Eve Rail Jam this year due to COVID / crowding concerns.

What is the cancellation / refund policy?
If you sign up and don’t show up, no problem. We just need you on the list prior to showing up. This one is also free, so nothing to refund.

Are there Discounted Lift Tickets for Event Competitors?
Not for the Torchlight, sorry.

What about parking?
There are SHORT TERM parking options in front of event registration (15 minute). After that, please follow all parking signage and park as per normal.

What are my transport options for getting to the event?
A shuttle will operate in the upper village areas, and all parking lots will be open through the event. The SNOW Bus will also operate between Whitefish and Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. It is nice, but it is not necessary.

Do WMR Employees / families receive a discount?
It is free, though a lift ticket is required.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
All skiers and snowboarders must be at least 8 years old and have a parent / guardian sign an assumption of risk policy prior to competing. Participants under 18 yrs of age must have a parent or guardian sign a liability waiver. No exceptions. You will be skiing in the dark, at night, without much light, so we recommend solid intermediate skiers or better.
