UPDATE: 9AM SATURDAY - Unfortunately, due to today's weather conditions we will not be running the Nate Chute race. The Banked Slalom will move to tomorrow and the Boardercross is canceled. The Banked Slalom will be back to it's original schedule which has been updated below.

Join us for the 21st Annual Nate Chute, the second-longest running snowboard banked slalom in the US, and the third-longest in North America. It’s a ‘Contest for a Cause’ — the event is a great supporter of suicide prevention among young people in Montana. The cash purse for the event is $4,000 and proceeds help to raise money for a great cause. The overall winners of the Open Men's and Open Women's divisions earn an entry to next year's Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom.
An extra special thanks goes out to Stumptown Snowboards for being fantastic contributors to this long-standing event.
Pre-registration is required and closes at noon on Thursday, March 12th. This is earlier than years past!
Competitors must come check in each morning (7:30am-8:30am)

Saturday - Banked Slalom (Moved to Sunday)
Saturday will be a banked slalom through a super fun, hand-built banked slalom course in George's Gorge and under Chair 7. Best time wins and seeds racers for the Sunday SBX. Each rider takes 2 timed runs, helmets are mandatory.

Sunday - Day 2 - Boardercross (Canceled)
Sunday is one of the biggest boardercross events in the Northwest with 100 riders competing for the title and coolest trophies around. Two to five riders race through a great course consisting of jumps banks rollers and traffic. Helmets are mandatory.

THE CONTEST FOR A CAUSE
This is what sets the Nate Chute apart from other snowboard events. It is a contest for a cause. Here is the lineup of fundraising opportunities for the Nate Chute Foundation, a local non-profit corporation that is dedicated to suicide prevention among young people in Montana.

Live music and NCF Benefit Night at the Bierstube. Awards ceremony and a fundraiser keg with proceeds benefitting NCF.

Community night at Mackenzie River Pizza with a portion of proceeds benefitting NCF.
This Contest for a Cause raises money for the Nate Chute Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention in western Montana. Competitors are encouraged to sign up for the Crowdrise campaign to raise funds for the NCF. Competitors who raise $300 or more will have their entry fee reimbursed at registration on March 14th. Contest pre-registration is required regardless of Crowdrise participation.
SPECTATORS
These events are located on the backside of the mountain are only accessible by skier/boarder traffic. No foot traffic allowed on Chair 7 so you must be able to transport yourself to and from the courses.
Saturday's Banked Slalom begins near the bottom of Whitetail and continues through George's Gorge, a super cool natural feature that serves as a natural halfpipe over 1/3 mile long. Some of the best viewing is from chair 7.
Sunday's Boardercross is best viewed from alongside the race course located on Goat Haunt.
VOLUNTEERS
We need help! We are looking for intermediate skiers/snowboarders who would like to earn a lift ticket for the day you help and for another day within the next year! We need help course marshalling on the day of the races, but also building the banked slalom course alongside our events crew.
