Message from the event organizers:
The Montana Bicycle Guild Inc., announced today that it is canceling the 2020 Montana Enduro Series due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With cases rising again, it would be irresponsible to host events that bring competitors from all over the Western United States. We love our racers and our races, and we'd rather be safe and wrong then risk a lot and be right.

We've been able to avoid a lot of the pandemic in Montana. Montana has the fewest number of infections in the US. But that isn't because we're lucky; it's because people have made smart decisions here to help curb and prevent the spread of this virus. That includes difficult decisions like canceling events.

While the series will not happen in 2020, we still hope to hold small, one-off events later in the year if it safe to do so – it’ll be a wait and see type of situation for those.

For people who have already registered, we will be emailing you soon with more information and details. In short, we’ll be offering three options: First, we can refund as much as we possibly can. That's your registration less about $8 in fees per refunded registration that we get charged. The second option is to defer your entry into the 2021 season. This goes for season pass holders as well. The third option is a 41% refund that results in a 59% donation to the MBG. Why 41%? Montana was the 41st state, and the MES is what we use to fund bike projects in Montana. Without races, about 90% of the income for the MBG is gone for the year. And to be clear, it's not money for Sprinter vans and it's not money for paychecks for us. It's money for trail tools, chainsaw chains (we use our own saws), trail building contractors, office rent, timing equipment, insurance, and lawsuits to protect biking access in Montana.

Rest assured, will be back as soon as it's safe to do so. Until then, ride your bike, wear a mask, be kind to your neighbors and other trail users, and stay safe.
