Trail Report

Reported on Aug 26th, 2015 at 01:58PM by Josh*

Patrol: 406.862.2940

*** This trail report will be updated throughout the summer as conditions warrant. ***

Thursday Night Race Leaguers,

No doubt you have noticed the smoke. These conditions are unhealthy according to the DEQ, and we have reluctantly decided to give up on the final race week for the 2015 season because of this hazard.

On a positive note, thank you for taking part in race league. We hope to provide you the best experience you can have on a mountain bike, and want to ask for feedback so we can continue to improve the event. We have created this survey - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WF-TNRL - to help garner that feedback.

On an aside, we have noticed a real split in the trail preferences of riders. Some prefer a more XC experience, while some prefer to focus on the descent, some just want to hang out and get a burger. Moving forward, I hope to provide two courses each night to better cater to that split. If you have thoughts on this, or other ideas for the league please let us know.

We would also like to thank our sponsors, without which we could not do such radical events.

Still want to ride bikes without using the lungs on the uphill in the smoke? Come up to the mountain and hitch a ride on the chairlift! It's a great way to work on your bike handling skills with a little help getting to the top.

Huckleberries are plentiful on North and West aspects. Think Flower Point and shaded western faces. The berries on the front side are getting a bit spread out at lower elevations. There are still plenty to be had at higher elevations. If you're looking for a huckleberry harvest, you'll have to venture farther off the beaten path. Please do not hike on bike only trails.

CONSTRUCTION- GO FISH AND FINAL COUNTDOWN do not have access from the Upper Village due to snowmaking construction. You can still ride Final Countdown from Curly's and Go Fish to and from Gravy Train.

Keep up with what is going on in the bike park here and on Instagram ( #bikewhitefish )

Have any suggestions for the bike park? Have any feedback for us? Check out our bike park survey HERE!
