Today's Snow Reporter: Helena
Saturday, April 4, 2026:
6:45 a.m. report:
Time just flies when you're having fun, and closing weekend is upon us! It's Helena coming at you with my last snow report of the season! This is my 61st and final report for the 2025/26 ski season, and I hope you guys have had as much fun reading them as I've had writing them! Now into today's details!
We received a nice little inch of new snow in the past 24 hours. Grooming let me know that the past couple of days' leftovers are creating some nice, smooth groomers out there. We are experiencing a freeze-thaw below the top of Chair 2 this morning, but expect things to soften quickly.
With a high of 53 at the base and 46 at the summit, things are shaping up for perfect spring skiing and riding conditions for closing weekend! We're expecting mostly sunny skies with clear visibility and calm winds across the mountain. What more could you ask for on closing weekend?
Beware of thin spots at lower elevations, especially toward Chair 2 land. Inspiration will be groomed down to Hogan's East, and Big Ravine will be groomed down to the Interstate notch.
The Pond Skim is ON! Kicking off at 2:30 p.m., we're looking forward to silly costumes and sick wipeouts today! Some shenanigans are expected, but please make sure you are following the rules and directions. This includes not throwing snowballs and not skiing and riding when impaired. Let's keep this event safe so we can all have fun!
Consider taking the S.N.O.W. Bus up to the mountain this weekend! Save some time (and gas money), as well as the headache of parking! Crowds are expected to come out and celebrate with us, so save yourself the trouble of having to navigate a vehicle and let the S.N.O.W. Bus do it for you!
I want to give a big shoutout to everyone on the mountain who has worked so hard to make this season special! It may not have been our biggest snow year, but I sure had fun! I want to extend a special thank you to ski patrol for keeping everyone safe, mountain operations and the grooming team for doing a great job with what they had, and all of you for reading these reports!
I've truly had an amazing winter writing these reports, skiing around and meeting everyone! I'll be back with your 10 a.m. update, and Margot will be here tomorrow to give you the scoop. For now, I'm signing off with a big smile! Thanks for everything, Whitefish!
The snow report is a subjective assessment of terrain and weather conditions. Snowfall and snow depths are measured at the summit and base areas around 6 a.m. each day. Actual depths may vary across the mountain and change throughout the day.

If you go out of bounds ...
When you exit the marked boundaries of the resort, you are entering backcountry terrain where natural and human-caused avalanches can occur. The resort does not conduct avalanche mitigation on those slopes. Always check the Flathead Avalanche Center's daily avalanche forecast and carry a beacon, shovel and probe.
Stay safe out there!
Did you know tree wells can be deadly? How do you ski or ride safely in early-season conditions? Have you read the Skier Responsibility Code?
Please review our safety guides to help keep you, your buddies and your fellow guests safe on the slopes.
