Snow Report update by Margot: Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026: 6:45 a.m. report: Tuesday … more like two-skis-on-my-feet day! Or, one-snowboard-on-my-feet day? For the sake of the slogan, I’m gonna favor the skiers. No matter how you get down the hill, today’s a good day for it! Overnight, we received a trace amount of new snow, adding to the inch that we’ve received in the past 24 hours. Conditions are variable this morning, and each area of the mountain will be skiing a bit differently. The upper third of the mountain received an extra healthy dusting of snow overnight. Mid-mountain experienced some freezing fog, and conditions are feeling slightly crusty on top. As you ski down to the base, it will get harder underfoot as the lower mountain is in a minor freeze-thaw cycle. All that being said, the groomers are still easy to lay an edge into, especially up high and on the backside, and this new snow is doing a lot to cushion conditions! It’s like a treasure hunt; you won't know what you can find until you’re out there. Visibility is currently clear up high with winds around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Temps should reach 27 degrees at the summit and 34 degrees at the base. It looks like we may see some intermittent sun later in the day, although it seems likely that there will be clouds in the skies. With firmer conditions down low, it can mean difficulty slowing down if travelling at high speeds. Nip this problem in the bud by skiing in total control and keeping a solid distance between... |
