Deep thoughts by Margot:

10 a.m. update:
The softest snow is feeling sugary and a little crispy, but most conditions are very firm. The dusting is the heaviest on the backside and is sitting on top of hard bumps. It isn't doing much to soften turns.
It's feeling a little chilly this morning, although it feels warmer in the sun. The temperature at the summit is currently 21 degrees but feels more like 10 degrees with wind chill. Winds are blowing 10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph.
I'm looking forward to conditions softening a bit throughout the day. The sun is great and the views are popping!
See you out there!
6:45 a.m. report:
The two-week countdown begins! That's right; you only have 14 days of skiing and riding up on the Big left until the season wraps up.
We've got a base of 90 inches at the summit that's waiting to be shredded. The summit got a slight dusting of snow overnight, but it isn't feeling too substantial, especially as cooler overnight temps brought a freeze cycle that is making the snow surface pretty hard. Watch for grooming irregularities and exposed patches due to these warmer temperatures we've been experiencing over the past week.
Temperatures today are going to reach a high of 34 at the summit by the afternoon. With west-southwest winds blowing around 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, expect it to feel more like the low 20s. It'll feel much warmer at the base, where temperatures should reach 45 degrees by the afternoon.
Skies are clear, and the sun should be shining for most of the day. Sunny skies should help to make conditions soften mountainwide! Good day to pop on the sunny goggles!
Our park crew has been working hard to keep the park in tip-top shape with features of every size and difficulty to test out. With softer afternoon conditions, it could be a great day to get in there and test it out. Make sure to review your understanding of terrain park safety before exploring!
Get after it today!
