Summer is a great time to re-connect with family and friends. What better place to do that than the great outdoors? At Whitefish Mountain Resort we are always looking for more ways to have fun on the mountain and this summer we've got some exciting new activities.
We are making the longest Zip Line Tours in Montana even longer! Our newest zip line is called "Inspiration," because the view is just that. You will experience Inspiration whether you sign up for the 5-Zip or 7-Zip Tour. The Bad Rock Lift will take you to Inspiration's launch platform then you will fly across the slopes and land next to the Inspiration ski run. The view and the ride will take your breath away as you soar 200 feet above the ground and 1,900 feet across the mountainside. With the addition Inspiration we've also shortened the hiking involved in our tours so you'll get more zipping and less walking in the same amount of time as last year!
Spider Monkey Mountain allows children to challenge themselves as they find their own way up through and out of a webbed tower. Kids 4 and up can climb through 4 webbed-floors and upon reaching the summit can either slide down the giant slide or climb back down through the webbing. Spider Monkey Mountain uses all aspects of the body's skills. It develops their psycho-motor and balancing skills as they stretch their kid-muscles and tap into that unlimited kid energy, and most of all it's just good FUN!
Coming this August our Aerial Adventure Park will be the first of its kind in this neck of the woods. These parks are a new concept in the US, but in Europe it has become a very popular experience for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. Our park will contain five courses made of small platforms constructed at various levels in the trees. The platforms are connected by different types of "elements" including suspended bridges, cable walkways, rolling elements, nets, ladders, trapezes, and other fun obstacles. Over 60 elements will be part of the park, no two will be alike.
We are extremely excited to announce that we will build two new top-to-bottom "freeride" (downhill only) mountain bike trails this summer both of which will provide over 2,000 feet of vertical drop. These two new purpose-built, machine-cut, feature-packed, terrain-enhanced downhill madness trails and additional connector trails will add 4.6 miles of mountain biking to Big Mountain. These are expected to be open late summer.
