The Freestyle Team utilizes the Fishbowl Terrain Park, the Jump Hill and all of the freeride terrain our mountain has to offer. The Weekend Program includes Saturday training plus Terrain Park/freeride coaching on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons.
Beginners focus on jumping and jibbing basics while more experienced team members focus on refining techniques and competition strategies. Coaches are high-end Freestylers, with coaching and competition experience.
Participation in competitions is encouraged. Whitefish Mountain Resort hosts Freestyle events each season. Training will not be held on home competition days as all members will either compete, spectate, help out and cheer on teammates. The Holiday Camp and coaching at home events are included. Additional training days and traveling event coaches are arranged on an individual basis and are not included in the program fees.
*** “Whitefish Freestyle” is a non-profit support organization separate from the WMR Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Team. It is made up of current and past parents, coaches and supporters from the community. Through fundraising efforts, there is a fund available that pays for team activities, and subsidizes team travel expenses, coaches education and scholarships for Freestyle Team program fees. To contribute to this fund or for confidential scholarship application information, please contact Steve Knox at firstname.lastname@example.org ***
