Skiing “Like There’s No Tomorrow”
Posted by Jessica February 3rd, 2012

Warren Miller Entertainment’s “Like There’s No Tomorrow” is doing a re-premiere tonight in Missoula (Hit it up at the Wilma if you’re in MSO), and WME athletes Lynsey Dyer and Andy Mahre are hitting the road on a Glacier Country ski tour.

As it’s Winter Carnival this weekend, Lynsey and Andy will get the full Whitefish treatment – they’ll be hanging out at the Plunge and Parade on Saturday, and then guest judging for the Black Star Beer Barter. On Sunday, they’ll be hitting the slopes with us – and you!

At 12:30pm you can “Ski with a Pro” and take a run with Andy and Lynsey. We’ll meet at the summit next to the trail map and ski Toni Matt. Come show off your carving skills! Then, come to Ed & Mully’s at 1:30pm for poster signing.

Check out Lynsey’s segment in “Like There’s No Tomorrow”:

Makeover in Lower Central Ave., Fishbowl Terrain Park
Posted by Events February 2nd, 2012

The Fishbowl Crew is back at it again, rebuilding and sculpting, in the Lower Central Avenue jib line, making it even more shredtacular! Everything in Lower Central was removed and the cat and crew regraded and reset the whole zone. So far there are 5 new features in the ground, including the shotgun rainbow, c-box, a few propane tanks, and the s-rail. The crew is working hard to polish out the snow and these features will be opening over today and tomorrow. There is still a lot of open space in there that the crew will be filling up over the next week. Please be considerate of periodic closures of particular features as they are being set and worked on.

Upper Central jumps, Depot Park, and Magic Park are all riding sweet, so come out and get some!

The 2nd of 3 Night Riders Park Series events takes place Saturday, February 4th. Some of the most popular park features will make up the venue located behind Ed & Mully’s (don’t worry they’ll return to the Fishbowl after the event). It’s a great venue for spectating, so come on up after the parade and check it out. Event details are on our event calendar

Ski With a Snow Reporter Contest
Posted by Jessica January 31st, 2012

It’s time for our 2nd Annual Ski With a Snow Reporter Contest! You watch the videos everyday and know you have what it takes to be a ski/snowboard model – well, show us!

Make a 2-4 minute video of you ripping it up on snow. We’ll pick our favorite video and the winner and two guests of choice will get to then ski/ride with a snow reporter and star in the daily video! The video doesn’t need to be shot here, but should be recent footage. Get out there and get creative! Please obey the skier responsibility code at all times including when you are creating your video.

Fun Findings in the Fishbowl Terrain Park
Posted by Events January 27th, 2012

Oh hey there Fishbowlers, check out the 411 on the terrain park.

Central Ave is now open with a super sick Medium/Large lineup from top to bottom. There are 3 new jumps on Upper Central (please remember to look before you leap) followed by 2 lines jam-packed full of boxes, rails, jibs, and bonks on Lower Central. The 1st jump is smaller, but has a long landing to give you plenty of speed for number two. The 2nd jump is a different style, with a longer smoother take off into a long clean landing, and the 3rd jump is a poppy step-down.

Depot Park is also fully open with 4 perfectly dialed Small jumps, 3 boxes, and 2 rails. Depot is a great place to start jibbing or work on new tricks.

The Magic Park, located off of the Magic Carpet behind the Base Lodge has a mini jump, and a beginner box and rail to make your first attempt at freestyle fun.

Looking for something super fun to do this Saturday evening? The Night Riders Park Series begins this weekend, January 28th with the Best Trick Competition. The the venue will be on one of the new jumps in Upper Central. Spectators are welcome and can  walk to the venue. Check out all the details on our event calendar.

C u in the Fishbowl!
